Father-Son Camping Adventure

Looking for an unforgettable bonding experience with your son? Join us for a 2-night camping trip designed to strengthen the father-son bond while exploring the great outdoors. This is a perfect opportunity to unplug, connect, and create lasting memories in a serene, nature-filled environment.
Who Can Join:
Fathers and sons (ages above 6 is recommended)
Any individuals over 18yrs are also welcome.
What to Expect:
• Bonding Activities: Participate in engaging teamwork challenges and fun-filled games designed to bring fathers and sons closer.
• Explore Nature: Discover the beauty of Howqua Hills with guided hikes and nature exploration.
• Life Skills: Learn practical skills such as navigation, campfire cooking, and survival tips—all while having fun!
• Campfire & Stargazing: Unwind by the campfire with storytelling, delicious food, and a chance to gaze at the starry skies away from city lights.
• Reflection & Growth: Share inspiring conversations and enjoy moments of reflection in an iman-centered environment.

Key Details:
Information Session
We invite all participants to attend an information session before the camp:
• Date: Saturday, 18th January 2025
• Time: 8:00 PM (after the monthly NYC lecture)
• Location: Epping Memorial Hall
This session will cover important details about the camp, what to expect, and provide an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. Attendance is highly recommended for both fathers and sons.
Registration Deadline
To help us finalize arrangements, registration closes on Wednesday, 15th January 2025. Be sure to sign up early as spots are limited!
What’s Included in the Cost:
• Transportation (to and from Howqua Hills in 12-seater vans)
• All meals and snacks during the camp
• Camping site fees
• Logistical support, supplies, and activities
Transport & Departure:
• We will gather for Jummah prayers at Epping Memorial Hall.
• Departure Time: 2:30 PM on Friday, 24th January 2025 (immediately after Jummah).
• All luggage will be transported in a trailer for convenience.
• Return: We will leave Howqua Hills at 10:30 AM on Sunday, 26th January 2025 and arrive back at Epping Memorial Hall around 1:30 PM, insha Allah.
Facilities:
• Limited facilities include tank water and pit toilets. However, there will be plenty of fresh water to enjoy in the nearby river. We will carry water for cooking and drinking.
• Please note there may be limited or no mobile reception, providing a great chance to disconnect from social media and other distractions.
What to Bring:
• Sleeping bag: Highly recommended as it will get cold in in the night (even in summer)
• Comfortable hiking gear (shoes, pants, T-shirts, caps, etc.)
• Refillable water bottle
• Flashlight or headlamp
• Personal hygiene and health items (toothpaste, medications, sunscreen, etc.)
• A change of clothes
• Foldable outdoor (camp) chair
• Optional: If you own a tent, please let us know so we can include it in the logistical arrangements.
